From Strength to Strength
Alan Pardew
I was not convinced when Newcastle made Pardew manager, thought they needed a well know master technician, but having seen how the team has responded this season I think he has done a great job with limited assets. What do you think?...

His tactics at Stoke really convinced me that hes a shrewd bloke. Wiping the ball as they do to waste time and they didnt know how to deal with it. Had to laugh when Danny Simpson was given a towel and looked bemused about it

I was gutted about Chris Hughton going and i hated the idea of Pardew becoming the new NUFC manager but he has proved to me that he is a good manager and i acctually really like him! Lord Pardew!

@newbon true. Tiote is missed to certain up the midfield. Him and Cabaye together in midfield. Guthrie and Gosling are the replacements and they are not ready to maintain the position we're in!

@danott needs a midfielder more than anything else. The defence will be fine once Williams is fit, but if we loose Tiote, we only have youngsters to rely on and in the EPL thats not going to cut it.

At first we were all very hesitant given the surprise nature of Hughton being sacked given the fact we thought he was doing such a great job. But since then, Pardew has done a great job, made some great buys and proven he knows what he is doing at the club. Just interested to see how he buys given the injury problems.

Hold your horses @james, this guy was a failure at Southampton in League 1, Failure at Charlton and West Ham done a good job but i think even Houghton could be done the same job. Remember last year Chris got sacked while NUFC were 10th?

@James Again with Pardew not being all that high profile or in the papers, im not sure he will ever be in the running for the England job. He is far too normal lol

Pardew is doing a incredible job, always looking over his shoulder because of the management he is under. He will be in the Premier League for years to come and i wouldn't be surprised if his name was in the hat for the England job.

I totally agree with you @slufsar. Safe in the Prem and making a profit Cashley couldnt be happier

I really like this guy. My manager of the season so far. Newcastle have a good starting 11, but a small squad, so they will drop fast now.

Smith would not leave for one reason mate which is that he is getting money that he would not receive at any other club FACT. I think in the summer when his contract is up he will go to another country or simply retire. He milked Newcastle and football. Poor player

@mrsentah good shout, was not bothered to see Nolan or Barton go, wish Smith had gone too to lighten the wage bill. But club is going in the right direction and Pardew stays out of the papers and just gets on with his job

Im very surprised by the guy if im honest, thought he would get the sack ASAP but i guess they gave him a 5 year deal for a reason lol... He has had no money and got rid of a few players that were past it in Nolan and Barton! I still think 11th is where you will finish which represents a good season IMO

@Mason or sells Tiote for £25mill as hinted at to get more transfer money. Although I hope he stays as we have limited midfielders as it is already
