I thinkit is great that Arsenal are punching for signings this year, earlier than last season too... However, stil no defenders... Vermalen and Koshileny strongest pair..... Mertershaker as (slow) cover...but then who... Djorouu?... Squilachi!!! How many goals does mr wenger plan on scoring each game to ensure victory?

You have to look to your reserves to push on and command a place.. Surely, every time he, and Djorouu have had chances they make mistakes. That itself no crime but to keep making them, the coach does not want to put them in... Vermalen and Koshileny can't be scared they are going to get pushed out of the starting line up?

@Fourfourtwo why has Squilachi got such a bad reputation amongst arsenal fans? he hasn't set anything alight but surely he hasn't done that horrific? arsenal fans always seem to have a player or two they point the guns at and it always seems over the top. eboue was one? senderos probably another despite his great start, adeboyor before he bagged 25 odd the next season. the one match I saw squilachi play he played really well, up for the fight and experienced and scored the only goal of the game from a set piece to win arsenal the match.

steve bould is apparently taking over a lot of the defence now. could be a better signing than any one player

I think arsenal should buy shawcross, shaw and koscielny would be beast
I love the vermaelen koscielny partnership but yeah the cover is a joke... Djourou terrible, squillaci terrible and mertersaker is slower than Big sam!
We need centre back, left back and Goalkeeper in my opinion!! Right now there isnt suficient cover for injuries or to rest players.

@Fourfourtwo.. Chris Smalling joined United from Fulham. The only thing I know about Miquel is that he spanked the ball at Ramsey to set up a own goal for Arsenal against us. I think you need a new defender if not two.

Djorou apparently on around 60k a week, thats crazy for a team limiting on its spending and wages! he must have an AMAZING agent!

Migel.. A young spanish kids is good... Got a few games last year at lb/rb but still early days.. Need someone like Phil Jones or the guy u got from Fulham (name escapes me)... eastmond is good prospect but more dmc than CB...

Vertongen wanted to come at one point, I agree we missed a trick .... I also think they should have made more effort to sign Cahill too... Jagielka would be a usefull signing if he is fit but I think he will be expensive....
