@Baldersmith is right about Hughton, but I think the owners want someone with top level trophies/medals in their corner. Hughton clearly has all the skills to lead AV but I doubt they will give him the chance. After McLeish they want a big name with a big reputation -

they should give it to paul lambert. so reminiscent of martin o'neill and has proven he can get supposedly average players playing at premier league standard. just the guy who could get the best out of villa's young squad, and perfect for an owner who doesn't seem to want to spend too much
