Am I underrating him?

Heard he's on City's shortlist and they're willing to offer around £30 million for him, I know he's a good footballer but he seems a dodgy defender to me, yet he seems to be getting offers from City and Barca

I agre with the points. He does have bad postiioning and also bad judgement at times. He's rash at the wrong times in games. That's something that was overlooked when he first came to the prem because he showed great footballing ability for a defender. He had enthusiasm and I remember him bossing his game away at Fulham from CB. He will get better and I think many of the top European clubs know that and are willing to take the gamble on him. If Chelsea can groom him the right way he could be a w old class CB, but he must cut all the silly things out. It's in his hands if you ask me

@TittleTan your a Chelsea fan. you can't tell you turn a blind eye to all the mistakes Luiz, if so you miss a lot of the Chelsea matches. 1v1 he is very good. but when I comes to holding the line with terry he is clueless.

agreed. if he has one trail that not a lot of defenders have its pace. faster than most around the world but that doesn't make up for his awful defending or his clueless positioning sense
I have just read a Sunderland fan saying he is awful. Having watched a defensive partnership of Bramble and Turner I don't think Sunderland fans should ever belittle another clubs defense. Ever.

I don't think he'd suit Citeh. I think he a bit dodgy sometimes but he could suit Barca. He just needs to cut out wanting to be a midfielder/ attacker & stick to his job when needed. Barca like ball playing defenders so he could suit them if he wants to be less of a defender. Also it'd be funny if he partnered Puyol with their hairdoos haha.

@daveowollefdoog not just Busquets breaks up play, they all work so hard off the ball its no surprise Real Madrid accused them of taking drugs! They look like they have well more than 11 players, saw that 1st hand at Wembley

@Doozers20 They could, they have basically 1 n then Puyol plays right back really and Busquets breaks the attacks up everytime so they don't get attacked much at all

All of it just paper talk but in all honesty Barca would probablies be a good club for him.... He's more of a midfielder and Barca like playing midfielders in defence like Mascherano last season. He's basically perfect for that role

City is paper talk. They released a statement earlier stating that they have no interest in signing David Luiz. He's a top player with bags of potential but he can be a bit rash sometimes. I agree with @mrsentah he would be a good CM. You gotta love Luiz either way, the guy is a top bloke and always smiling!

@LawrenceQPR23 just Ray Wilkins was talking about it on Sky Sports, that they'd be better off going after Vermaelen. He plays as a defender though so therefore I'd say he was pretty poor

Lol nah not barca, he was just there for a 'Nike' event supposedly.... i'm sure city is paper talk aswell! I think he is a really good player, just NO way a CB... stick him at CDM and he will do the job, he roams way too much to be CB
