Lampard picks up training Injury.
Frank Lampard
Frank Lampard today has picked up an injury in training which is likely to prevent him taking part in Euro 2012, which means that Jordan Henderson will be called up if this is the case. That's now a couple of injuries at training. I believe this is because the Barclays Premier League season is too physically demanding to then go off and compete in a major competition just weeks afterwards. I believe we need a 2/3 week winter break and reduce the teams from 20 to 18. Just my opinion, how about yours?

If Lampard doesn't go then that means Carroll, Henderson and Downing all make the England squad despite all of them having a shocker of a season. Meaning beyond doubt that the best way to get into the England team is by playing for a 'big' club. A squad picked on reputation and price tag over form is guaranteed to fail. For once I want Lampard to be fit...

Totally agree. I am sick of hearing argument that because players are paid so much money they should play whenever we tell them to! They are not bionic! Bodies tire. Also the psychological benefits of spending Christmas with their families cannot be underestimated. Total no brainer.

this is a massive blessing in disguise. i cant believe how big of an blessing in disguise this is for England. woy was always going to have the dilemma of gerrard/lampard, now he doesnt have it. and the only reason he had that dilemma in the first place, is because lamps is a big name players who has his hollywood moments. he's actually not good anymore. oh yeah, he's a match-winner, but i think england need a midfielder with more pace and work rate than lamps. i honestly believe hendo would do better for england than lamps... unless, of course, this euros is all about penalty shoot-outs..

So you have a winter break. Uefa aren't going to put back major tournaments for this. So after the winter break there will be less time to fit in more games. Which will have an even worse effect on the players, surely?

Its most likely going to see Milner move into the centre if Parker is injured. Henderson will just be back up.

Should be a break but where is it going to fit in? As for Lamps, its a secret blessing he isnt going. But if Henderson goes i'd rather take my son to be MF and im only 32!

Ok look like my discussion got bumped by that powers that be- I'm glad fat frank won't be there - he would have been sub and probably in front of the Ox - at least that has now changed. With lamps and Barry out I could actually start backing this England team
