I'm sorry guys, but this is just a joke... How on God's green earth are England up to 4th in the latest FIFA rankings just released after the Euro's?? This is just a complete shambles. The system is used to calculate these rankings is rubbish, and it isn't an accurate reflection... I mean FOURTH??? Are they really sure?? The fourth best team in the world gets passed off the pitch against Ukraine??? Have a day off!!! It seems bizarre but it's the fairest system. England qualified for Euro's easily, came top of their group, lost on penalties. Recently beat Spain as well as two victories before the Euro's. If other teams, like Brazil, only play lower ranked teams then hard to say they're better. England need to be high on the list to ensure they are seeded for WC. On one level it doesn't make sense but we did beat Ukraine and Sweden. Possession isn't everything. Balls in net is.

@mrsentah results... England have barely lost recently and beating Spain would have given them massive ranking points, oh and I don't think penalty shootouts count so technically, according to the ranking system, England were unbeaten in the Euros

Don't England play brazil soon anyways? That should be fun! Basically winning games wins you trophies , doesn't matter how you win! They are ranked on results and not how many passes you can play before the opposition pass out

FIFA are making a joke of us now. 4th is disrespectful. Our squad is top 5 but game play is bottom 20

Rankings don't win you games so i'm not interested. England could be rank number one and still be beaten by a rank 50 because we are so inconsistent and the strategies and systems need to change all the way from grass roots upwards.

@liam no it doesn't it says that statistically England have gotten the 4th best results in the past few years, its based on fact, saying England aren't 4th best is subjective and to make a table based on the subjective is impossible as everyone has different opinions, 99% (including me) would not say England are 4th best in world football and nobody pays proper attention to the rankings, I can almost guarantee that Brazil will have better odds for the world cup than England do
