Why is he starting for England
James Milner
I'm sorry I don't think he's an international player let alone starting for England. Especially watching this game, what has he done? Non existent.... What qualities does he actually have?

I know why don't we give someone who has played in the tournament so far a go... maybe Stewart Downing?

both wingers have been bad - but we're winning so whats the point of moaning ......we'll get knocked out and it wont change a thing - he will still play the same team.....

He's done a stellar job for us. Getting back and defending, and linking up play well. Just cause he has had no direct contributions, it doesn't mean he is playing badly.. Young on the other hand, he has been awful so far.

fills in when people bomb forward, midfield for Gerrard, right back for Johnson, not sure thats enough but thats what he's in the team for

he was seen as an average player before he was shifted into central midfield

he has qualities, he looks so tired and unfit this summer though. we can't carry him any longer. besides he only really started to flourish into a limelight player when he was a catylist playing in CENTRAL MIDFIELD in that aston villa side challenginge for 4th spot. he has said himself he now sees himself as a central midfielder, no one plays him there anymore though even though thats what got him in the england squad and a move to city. sometimes he is a victim of his circumstance as he is a good crosser of a ball and works hard. he is even too unfit and tired now to even play effectively in his central midfield birth

I ask myself this every single game, useless. Can't believe City bought him for £26million. Ox, Young and Theo are all so much better options and apart from running he doesn't add anything to the team, but you could play me right-midfield and I could run; doesn't mean I add anything to the team....

though he does run about and nearly score against France though. He's good at that

who cares, he gets the job done, the results are still coming in, We should only really question things like this when we're not playing well or not getting the results, as far as I can tell the current system is working much better than the one under Crapello

He puts a shift in. One of them player's that although they are not the best, other players love playing with them because of there work rate and effort. Like Dirk Kuyt. I'd rather Walcott though.

Greg from Stoke on text: "People who criticise England don't understand Hodgson's tactics: sacrifice constant attack for defensive solidity and focus on taking chances. It's got us seven points from three games so I hope it continues." Chris in Weybridge on text: "Why do people still slate England? No one gave them a chance going into the tournament so to top the group is a fantastic achievement. Bring on Italy."

Milner can do 10 things wrong and 1 good thing right, he gets praise for that 1 good thing but everything he does wrong never gets mentioned
