A case of DeJa Vu from Last summer's buys... Is Borini really the answer?
Liverpool
Let's face it last summer's buys on a whole were generally poor from Liverpool, and with the signing of Borini, its a case of DeJa vu for me... If Brendan wasnt manager Borini wouldnt be the kind of striker that LFC fans would want to see. I want to know if the LFC fans are happy with Borini. I don't think he'll score the goals required. He has clever movement but he's far too lightweight for the Prem. I'll be stunned if he does very well. What do you all think?

I think Borini operates best either on the left or centrally. Personally I think Suarez will start on the right side of a front 3. Regardless, we need more forward additions with the loss of Kuyt, Maxi and potentially Carroll. I don't think Borini will be the answer to our problems but we're in desperate need of someone who gets into the right areas and I think he'll do so. With Carroll I thought his poor movement and anticipation was one of the reasons Downing finished the season with 0 assists.

I think Borini is going to play upfront and Luis will play just behind him. I think we've got to sing to new quality wingers
Looks exactly the type of player we should be buying. Young, promising, already has impressive stats. We have to be realistic - we need to buy potential- something we have not done very well.
Give the lad a chance. He seems really keen.
Wasn't that pleased with the news, I'll give him a chance though
@MB_Ktubes Agreed he has great movement, and will help our front line
@bobbymc No I wouldn't even consider selling him. A loan at the maximum just to give him so more match experience in a different league.

think of BR setting up his team like a Barcelona, Suarez to play Messi role down the middle, he just brought in Borini to be a David Villa or Alexis Sanchez or a Pedro. I'm sorry Andy Carroll you don't have a place in this squad anymore purely based on technical ability only big man that can play in the Barca system is and only Zlatan. best 6ft 5 player with his feet. Carroll just doesn't have it. he is better off at Stoke.
MB_Ktubes... Understand we're your coming from with the American connection but I still wouldn't sell Carroll
I wont judge until ive seen him play a little, but from what ive heard hes s good player
@bobbymc.. The Dempsey move will be all about business, no doubting his talent, but it's to boost the American market because he is one of their biggest players. I think he is 29 now so he could still have 3 years in him which could be beneficial. I would take Dempsey if the deal was £8 million or less.

I reckon we should keep hold of Carroll and not get Dempsey as he is getting old and as it just makes bad business sense to sell on the cheap because nobody thinks he can adapt to Brendan's (tiki taki) way of playing. At least Give him till January to adapt
Think he will be a great addition now time to get rid of Carroll

I think it's a good signing for #LFC... He's incredibly young and already has a fair bit of experience in three diffrent leagues... last year he scored 9 goals (in 24 games, very impresive for such a deffensive league like italy) in 18 atempts on goal which is a 50% converstion rate, our best attacking player last season Suarez had a converstion rate of around 28%. He can play in any of the three attacking roles in the 4-3-3 system roddgerss likes to use and he's worked under him at two different clubs. For me I think it's a class buy and better money spent then most of last summers signings... But we'll wait and see

He's only 21/22 you all need to think. He's a good finisher who can also hit a free kick, couple of years at the right club and I think he'll be in the top 5 strikers in the league. Plus Rodgers isn't dull he knows a lot about football and he wouldn't spend that amount of money on someone he didn't think would preform

Borini sounds like something I'd order from a cafe
BTW, one of his key strengths seems to be his movement. I'm thinking a Suarez/Borini partnership may lead to Premiership defenders wetting the bed at night.
