Brendan Rodgers has a long list of targets to bring into Liverpool Football Club before the start of the season and the second person on that list is Lyon attacking left-back Aly Cissokho. The defender has been linked many times before with a move to Anfield, most noticeably last Summer with the fee being quoted at £8million - however the deal collapsed as Jose Enrique sealed a move from Newcastle for just £5million. After the latter had a flying start to the season it was unthinkable that the Spaniard would be sold. But after a very disappointing back end to the season and the arrival of the new manager, it seems that his time is indeed up; with Rodgers in favour of a move for Cissokho instead. Other targets top 2 (reportedly) include Gylfi Sigurdsson and Gaston Ramirez. What do you think? Is Aly Cissokho better than Jose Enrique and if the deal did go through, would that strengthen Liverpool? I believe so.

Would b a decent buy Enrique still a decent squad player. But we need to focus on our strikers and wings For me the only buys id get would b Luuk de Jong (21- fc twente striker) siggurdson cuz he's a good cheap option hoilett also cheap and move up sterling
@russellWhitter @LuisCarroll79 I agree with 'LuisCarroll79' in a way. I'd keep Enrique, but buy Cissokho. Trust me, the latter is a wicked LB and fits into Rodgers' style better.

I can't see Enrique adapting to the style of football Rodgers plays. I think he's a decent left back who probably over performed the first half of the season and under performed the second half of the season. I also think we'd make a profit on him if we did decide to sell. Cissokho is obviously a class act but think we need strengthening in other areas first and Enrique deserves another season to prove his worth.
Also did Liverpool not have of the best defences last season?
Enrique is a class act absolutely no chance he is leaving the mighty Reds this summer. I'm willing to listen to bet offers. JE is certified class and will get even better
I'm bored of the speculation i will just wait until it is announced by the club. The amount of players we are linked with by "reliable sources" we would have about 4 squads. @themole needs to return to RYP

@MB_Ktubes Fair enough. I knew AC Milan want him, but I don't think they'll get him. United is a possibility if they don't get Baines. (Their first choice).

@releasethekraken No, it's not. Although he is very reliable, there is someone else who normally gets things right 80% of the time but is less well known. Enrique was good until Christmas, then he must have ate a dodgy Turkey or something because he was terrible last matches of the season!

@SuperSubDickinson is the 'mole' duncan jenkins? he is fairly reliable to be fair. i must admit i've not seen cissokho play for a while and don't know much about him but yes i do rate enrique that highly. he was one of our best players last season it seems ludicrous to replace him

@MB_Ktubes Cissokho is more than cover for Enrique, he should be starting over him! Enrique is very on and off, and although I don't want him to be sold I doubt that'd he'd be content with a regular place on the bench. But trust me, if this is true (source a usually very reliable LFC 'mole' on Twitter who said Rodgers would be boss right at the beginning when Martinez & AVB were being thrown about) then it is only a good thing for Liverpool. But the difference between Rodgers 'wanting' him and actually getting him is a different story altogether. & @releasethekraken do you really think he's that good?
