Can United still compete in the market?
Manchester United
This was a response from a journalist to a fan who slated his article on another site, I thought it was an interesting point of view.
"The headline proclaiming that United will miss out on Lucas Moura was about as surprising as the day I found out that Sir Alex can get a bit shouty in the dressing room.
There was never any chance of them signing Moura or any other of their other potentially expensive targets because they don't have any money. Van Persie was an option because he wouldn't cost £30million and his wages aren't that much more than Berbatov, who is leaving. Any significant investment is simply out of the question.
The recent share issue is testament to this. Described by the Economist as shares for fools and Manchester United supporters, it had all of the hallmarks of a desperate club. Yes, United are the most valuable club on the planet, but there's no liquidity.
Call me Mr Cynical if you like, but I've been pretty certain throughout the summer that all of United's transfer targets have been propaganda to hide the real truth. There's no money, and there will be no big signings."

I hope they're skint, would make the premier league slightly more competitive! I would say they have a limited budget that's why they only sign the odd player every so often, not many mad buys like in the past with Bebe
