Liverpool v United, City v Arsenal, who do we want to see take the pitch for the team we support in these 2 big games. Personally I want to see United come out with a bit of pace and power, as well as a little guile

my team would be... De Gea, Rafael, Rio, Vidic, Evra - Carrick, Anderson (if deemed fit enough) - Valencia, Kagawa, Buttner - Van Persie

De Gea is the best shot stopper, dodgy when its lumped in the air but that doesn't seem to be Rodgers style. Having Buttner and Valencia on the wings will give nice direct wing play as well as leaving the team balanced both in terms of left and right foot and the fact that should Evra and Rafael go forward, they are more than capable of filling in, especially with the likes of Johnson being very good in attack for a full back. Many will balk at Anderson but I think he will provide a lot of pace, power and energy, more than many in the United team. Toss up between Carrick and Scholes but Carrick is better defensively. Kagawa is a must at the minute and will provide creativity from the middle of the park and Van Persie is Van Persie.

If things are going wrong I'd look to bring Scholes on at around 60 minutes, also would look to throw Nani on and Chica to try grab a late goal

Borini is so mediocre

@owonefi7.. He'll come on around 65 minutes I reckon no matter what the score is. He'll either settle the game down to his pace or be a creator. Giggs won't play 90 minutes.

@MB_Ktubes pretty much, rafael is the only weak point defensively but is a real outlet attacking wise- Evans was immense last season so no worries there. Liverpool will really miss Lucas today! Think scholes will come off the bench at some point

@Doozers20.. I think that's what they said. Giggs is captain to aviod controversy with Evra being captain. I'm happy with Evans in. Sterling should be able to beat both him and Rafeal. I still think we'll struggle to get anything more than a point.

@MB_Ktubes not particularly happy with the lack of Vidic or Giggs ahead of Scholes

@Delooney88 I think with the new players though like Kagawa and Van Persie United will be more creative and dynamic playing 1 up front, United have never had a player like Kagawa and used to play Park in his role which often led to boring games. I just think that 2 in midfield may get overrun by Liverpools 3

United fans. What the news on Fletcher? Is he match fit yet? Want to see him return, it's sad to see any footballer go through tough times.

@Doozers20 ya thats the only ting the other option would be play 4-4-2 but with carrick and scholes in the middle and kagawa on left instead of nani ya act think that would be better then my originsl line up i jst think if we go for 1 up front it will be a boring game i hate when united play 1 up top

@Doozers20.. Same could be said with Dirk Kuyt, didn't stop him scoring goals.

@MB_Ktubes I don't myself this is just what I'd like to see. I think putting Buttner in defence in such a big game is a risk as it may have the same effect that Evras debut did against City. Also don't see Borini particularly troubling anyone

@Delooney88 I just think that is too open, no real defensive player in midfield and may negate Kagawa having him so deep, in my line up he supports Van Persie, I wanted Scholes in but picked Carrick because of his defensive ability

Id start with chica i honestly dont tink playing 1 up front suits united my ideal team would be de gea rafael vidic rio evra valencia scholes kagawa nani rvp chica!!! Tough to leave out carrick he has been playing well but scholes passing is better and he controls the tempo..

My line up would be- Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Allen, Shelvey, Gerrard, Sterling, Suarez and Borini. I think Borini could be trouble for Vidic and whomever partners him if he puts him under pressure. Vidic does tend to commit fouls when players put him under pressure and beat him for pace. I'm confident of getting a point but it won't be easy nor will anything greater. I can't see Fergie playing both Buttner and Evra. I could see Evra easily being dropped just to avoid trouble (might be wrong but it seems possible).
