He started his season on boxing day. Before that, most people were actually complaining about how overrated he is. After that, he's admittedly been unreal, but I think you need to perform the entire season.

@TheMightyPotter I know, I'm saying young player should be 21 or under.

I wouldn't have begrudged him, RvP, Suarez or Mata of the award, people saying he didn't deserve the award, I wouldn't go that far, I would've given it to Suarez myself, but you can't deny Bale has been sensational this season and its a real pleasure to watch and have that from a home grown player in our league. An example of an undeserved prize is when Beckham came second in the world player of the year award

MY personal opinion is that young player of the year should be for players who are eligible for their national under 21 team. As soon as you are eligible for the senior team you become a senior player, surely? That is why I would have young player of the year for players aged 21 and below. Having said that, Bale definitely deserved it given the current stipulations.

In my opinion Bale WAS the player of the season, he's been Spurs' engine all season round and without him in their squad I don't think they'd be as far as they are in the Premier League. But for him to win Young Player of the Season is a bit far, he's 23, I mean sure that's young but their are a hell of a lot younger players in the Premier League. I think Young Player of the Season should of been Lukaku, he's been brilliant this season for West Brom and he's at a young age of 19.

@lucas21 He fits in to the category. @AFC_Harry34 It's the players vote...

@AFC_Harry34 AND BALE ISN'T EVEN YOUNG for goodness sake. Young is like 21 or younger, he's 23 or 24 for goodness sake.

No one should be allowed to win both awards. Unfair

I think rvp should have got it. And if Suarez remembered to eat before the Chelsea game he would have been the only option, but with that, and rvp's recent resurgence he should have got it.

Don't see how anyone can disagree with this tbh, been unreal, the only other person to come even close to bale this season is Suarez, deffo not rvp

i can't really complain - he has been awesome and i believe he does deserve it really. i would have been fine with either him, suarez or RVP winning it to be honest. celt won't be happy...

My problem with this is that some have said they didnt vote for Bale and Suarez for their antics. That shouldnt be relevant at all, we are voting for the player who's played the best football individually, not the "nice guy of the year". Morals are taking too much space in todays football. Soon there wont be space enough for the actual football.

@Jonevarro Well if thats so important than surely RvP has to be the winner

I'm disappointed that he won Young Player ahead of a genuinely young player. Could be a huge confidence boost to a youngster coming through.

@slufsar... Even Michu. To come into a league that he's never played in and playing for a team expected to be fighting relegation. He's helped them maintain a top 10 finish.

Unlike Suarez he's carried a team into a meaningful position fighting for a UCL spot

He's won it all on media hype. Mata, Suarez and Van Persie all deserved it more than him.
