Mancini won't be short of job offers from around Europe, that's for sure! Plus a nice £28 million pay-off!

@calum_paton and Pochettino replacing Adkins at Southampton, McDermot sacked by Reading, and Di Canio taking over from O'Neil at Sunderland! Madness! LOL

Gary Neville on Twitter: 'Failing to achieve the clubs stated targets' - I bet the incoming manager is thinking ' probably should rent rather than buy' LOL LOL LOL

Ruthless to sack him a year after winning the title. Feel sorry for the man who won them a PL title, but CL failures, bust ups with players and criticism of the board have been his downfall. Not sure why they couldn't wait until they'd played their final 2 games. Being so far behind United after winning league title the season before isn't good, but (most) fans still supported him. Most fans would agree a few slip ups here and there are acceptable given how far the club has come - foreign owners ain't got a clue! I understand some of the logic behind the decision, but still seems harsh.

Today is exactly 1 year since city won the league. Imagine that day after the celebrations died down, somebody told you this time next year Mancini would be sacked, Fergie would have retired, Moyes has gone to Utd and Rafa is at Chelsea. Wow

@MB_Ktubes Yeah people saying its Txiki Begiristains decisions to appoint Pellegrini instead. He's the Director there, so he wants a manager that can work with a Barca-esque system there most probably. I wouldnt have any problems with it if they sacked Mancini because they believed they had the perfect manager lined up for the job.

@slufsar.... I don't think it's as clear cut as that. Something going on behind the scenes like us and Comoli.

I think people who are saying he should do better with the money are forgetting that he has to compete with so many other rich clubs aswell. He didnt get the players he wanted last summer because City is yet to have the same pull as other major powerhouses in Europe.

@AFC_Harry34... I wouldn't be happy if a multi-million pound team on insane wages couldn't beat Wigan plus all this speculation is flying around. I think Mancini thinks that he's already out of the door.

He's got a shocking attitude though, on Saturday the whole City team stayed on the pitch to congratulate Wigan, but Mancini went straight down the tunnel.

No, can Pellegrini really do much better than 3 trophies in 3 seasons? Stick with Mancini for a season, if it fails to work again then change manager.

There's only one Mancini. I'd be honored to have a manager of his charisma and knowledge at my club.

It is sad testimony to what football has become that they are even considering sacking him. The CL campaign was a travesty but, apart from that, how does their performance this season justify sacking the manager? Because they did not win the league? Rubbish. I'm not a huge fan of Mancini but I shake my head at a Board who would consider the team's performance this year to be that bad it justified his dismissal and I would be even more non-plus'd by any Citeh fans who would agree.
