A bridge too far....

Wayne Bridge must be one of the worst left backs in history ...ok that may be a tad harsh but playing for West Ham last season he was woeful. How he was an England international is beyond touted as a newcastle left back I would rather that position be taken by our reserves/young left backs coming through. He is on ridiculous money and shouldnt be allowed near Newcastle let alone the football team. Do people still think he is a decent defender ?does he have anything to offer the premiership or should he sit out his contract at Man City and then retire

I think he lost his way a bit when he joined City and after the JT scandal he hasn't seemed the same player. Always been good going forward nut I think he has lacked a bit in the defensive duty! He could defo do a job for Newcastle though I think, not that many better than bridge in the prem when he is on form.

Bit harsh, Bridge has played for Chelsea, City, Fulham, West ham - that is not a coincidence, he has quality and has more than a handful of appearances for England, you don't achieve all that by being one of the worst left backs in history. One things for sure that his performances have hit a stumbling block and have been going down hill but thats probably because of his age, he has hit the "plateu". Bridge would do well at Newcastle and City would probably pay a percentage of his wages, Bridge could still play for a lot of teams in the premier league. Newcastle should be happy if he was to fill the void at LB let's face it you don't have much cover in that position.

Not amazed by his talent i've got to say but he is a sturdy full-back who would be more at home in the lower reaches of the premier league. E.g. Wolves, for England...go home Wayne.
