Celtic’s road to the Champions League last 16 - as told by Neil Lennon
From the lows of the last-gasp defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou to the highs of defeating the Spanish giants at home, Neil Lennon has exclusively given his thoughts on Celtic's road to the last 16.
Lennon had described the win over Helsingborg that sealed progress to the group stages as one of the biggest achievements of his managerial career so far. Six stern tests lay in wait as Celtic were pitted against Barcelona, Benfica and Spartak Moscow in Group G.
As the Celtic manager explains as he considers each game in turn, ambition was furthered and tempered match by match. While defeat in Spain was a hard defeat to take, the groundwork was laid for victory at Parkhead. When defeat in Portugal raised doubts, the win over Spartak restored faith.
The reward for second place in the group is a further glamour tie and as Lennon prepares to take on Juventus, he reflects on how his team have developed in the competition and what he rates as the best and worst moments of the tournament so far.
