Championship Final Day
It's the final day in the Championship main season today, here's the picture:
Hull will be promoted if they beat Cardiff at home, or match Watford's result at home to Leeds.
Watford will be promoted if they better Hull's result (ie they beat Leeds and Hull fail to win, or they draw and Hull lose).
Crystal Palace will make sure of their play-off place if they beat Peterborough at Selhurst Park; or if they draw and Nottingham Forest fail to beat Leicester by six goals (even if that happens, a draw is OK if Bolton don't beat Blackpool by at least a three-goal margin, or a two-goal margin but score four more goals on the day than Palace).
Bolton will make sure of their play-off place if they win and Forest don't win by four more goals than they do; or if they draw and Forest draw with Leicester (as a win for either side would leap-frog them above Bolton). But if they lose, they're out as either Forest or Leicester will finish above them.
Nottingham Forest will qualify for the play-offs if they beat Leicester and either Palace lose or Bolton fail to win; or if they draw and Bolton lose. (Theoretically, they can also make the top six with a six-goal victory if Palace draw, or if they win by four more goals than Bolton's margin of victory).
Leicester will qualify for the play-offs if they beat Forest and Bolton fail to win.
Wolves will be relegated unless they beat Brighton and Peterborough and Barnsley both lose - and Wolves make up a four-goal swing in goal difference over Peterborough.
Barnsley will be relegated if they lose to Huddersfield (barring the unlikely scenario of Peterborough losing by seven goals more than Barnsley do, plus Wolves not winning); or if they draw and Peterborough avoid defeat and Sheffield Wednesday avoid defeat by four or more goals. But win and they're safe as they'd finish above Huddersfield.
Peterborough will be relegated if they lose to Crystal Palace and either Barnsley avoid defeat or Wolves win while making up a four-goal swing in goal difference; or if they draw and Barnsley win and Sheffield Wednesday avoid defeat. But win and they're safe as they'd finish above Barnsley and/or Huddersfield.
Sheffield Wednesday will be relegated if they lose to Middlesbrough and Barnsley win and Peterborough avoid defeat (or if the Owls lose by four or more goals and Barnsley and Peterborough both avoid defeat); or if they draw and Barnsley win and Peterborough win and Millwall avoid defeat. Win and they're safe.
Millwall will be relegated if they lose at Derby and Barnsley win and Peterborough win and Sheffield Wednesday avoid defeat. But they're safe if they avoid defeat as they'd finish above either Barnsley or Huddersfield.
Huddersfield will be relegated if they lose to Barnsley and Peterborough win and Sheffield Wednesday win and Millwall avoid defeat.
Blackburn can theoretically be relegated - but only if they suffer an unfathomable defeat in the region of 14 goals and other results going against them.
So what are your predictions?
