Cliftonville v Celtic

I am a Cliftonville fan living in North Belfast.I am little bewildered as to why Celtic sent back 500 tickets.I thought celtic had the best support in the world as i have been told by many Celtic fans.Or is it a case of who is Cliftonville? Would really like know the answer to this question.

@Italian_celt67 are you still confident celtic gonna reach group stages......lol......I told you Celtic are a poor team....they only beat a bunch of plumbers/joiners/bricklayers 5-0....in the last round.....lol

@crackentone not on the pitch no, but fan wise they are, bring a huge support everywhere they go, not alot of teams can bring what celtic bring

Celtic may have huge support but they are not a force in world or european football.

@crackentone they were in the same pot as Cliftonville only because of how poor scottish teams in europe have been in recent seasons (apart from last season), to say celtic arent a big team because of that is a joke there are over 125 celtic supporters clubs in over 40 countries around the world outside the top 4/5 in the EPL you dont get teams with a support like that anywhere else in britain and the match was a walk in the park with a half strength celtic squad, we'll get to the group stage and then next year we wont have to do all these pointless qualifiers

@Italian_celt67 I was also at the Cliftonville v Celtic game. But you miss the point all the celtic fans you seen purchased Cliftonville tickets. Most of them fans were from the north of Ireland.I was talking about scottish fans they sent their tickets back.Get my drift......

Haha this is all pretty hilarious, we pretty much had fans all over the ground i was there and we filled two of their stands and mixed support in the other two and they sent back 500 tickets because there were plenty of celtic fans in belfast anyway (majority of cliftonville fans) and was at the home leg last night aswell an we just about filled celtic park, we bring a bigger support to away games in europe than the most english teams so to call us a small team is ridiculous, plus the only reason celtic didnt play too well was because the majority of our players are injured at the moment and we had to play some that wouldnt normally start

In answer to your question @crackentone it must be because Cliftonville are a small club and with travel costs and hotels ect many fans didn't bother coming. Shame really as I heard Cliftonville had extra seats installed.

I watched the game it was decent, Cliftonville held Celtic for the first 30 minutes which just proves how poor Scottish football is. Eventually Celtic's professional players broke through against their amatuer opponents and they won 3-0, but not a brilliant performance. Still should see them through

Hahaha. Celtic are a small club. Can't even sell out for a Champions League game in a small ground.
