FOR SALE: Chelsea put £20m price on failed striker.

I know we've always said not to listen to red-top newspapers but the Daily Mail have today said that Chelsea have placed Fernando Torres on the shelf for £20m...making a loss of £30 and are willing to sell him in January if his wage demands are met. Thoughts?

Harry and levy should get the chequebook out and sign him, class is permanent and what he was doing at Liverpool was unbelievable. I would sign him in a heartbeat, probably why I'm not a prem manager, new club and without the price tag hanging over him

@JameesH11 absolutely terrible, his touch is dire and i feel like he has lost everything about him, no goals in 11 games worst record since moving to England 5 years ago!

@Charlee you are talking about Carroll right?? Whenever he steps onto the pitch there will be high expectations due to the price paid for him. As for Torres @ateeq, his price tag was a step too far.

Hes had his premiership run - did amazing at liverpool and then messed it up - would love it if chelsea missed out on the champions league this season (though cant see it happening) time for him to pack up his bags and go back to spain - malaga on current form - barca most likely

@Hybridism I think he will turn out to be a great buy. He is young seems to have his confidence dampened. But he will turn good for them.

@charlee you must mean liverpool got £15mill out of it. The other £35m from their £50m went on Carroll and what a buy he was...

Malaga or PSG in my opinion. Both have money and something to prove. I heard on here that Rafa was taking the PSG job so that would be the perfect match!

That 30m you could get RVP or even a cesc fabergas. but 50mill for a player who was out of form when they signed him why is it no shock that is not worked out. but i do like him as a player and think he needs time on the pitch but AVB cant give him that time cos it will cost him his job so torres needs to move on but where???? back to spain maluga maybe? cos baca of real madrid will not stump up that money for him. but chelsea fans 50 mill on him or pato?

Liverpool are the only ones to come out of this well. £50 million for nothing! What a waste of £30m

When he moved to chelsea from liverpool he moved for 50 million, a prem record and he has scored 2 or 3? But when demba ba moved from the hammers to the toon we played nothing and ba has scored 11.... does money really matter?

Trust me @mrsentah he was the MAN. I hope he takes over at ManU when SAF decides to go. Of course he got paid off and his missus is fit (apparently), so he is probably enjoying the spoils of war (and peace!!!!)

For me Ancolotti would of brought success in the long run I'm surprised he hasn't taken another job . Maybe it's because he got PAID by Chelski lol

So true @slufsar, but he is a business oligarch who loves football. Most of these types have compulsive personalities that demand a return on their investment and refuse to accept challenge or failure. Mourinho gave as good as he got. Torres and Sheva were on Roman's personal list and had he listened to his managers they would not have been bought. Both caused the team to decline and both were played despite dire performances. For me, Ancelotti should never have been allowed to leave.
