How big a miss will Gerrard be?

I wrote a similar thread about Carrick a few weeks ago, now Gerrard is out for a similar period.

Not seen much of Livepool so just wondering, how big a miss will he be?

@Posford you do realise henderson has started every game this season?

Not as much of a miss as he used to be, obviously. but he still has great attacking quality with the ball at his feet and his set pieces have been lethal this season. so i think in some games we will miss him a lot more than, say, the spurs game. at home against smaller teams (like scumdiff next week for example) we will miss him more as we will control the game more and he can do a lot more attacking than defending. different story in the away games against chelsea, spurs and city coming up though - as the midfielders will need to do a lot more work defensively, which he's not been great at as he's lost a lot of pace and stamina, so i don't think we'll miss him too much in those. allen, lucas and henderson will likely be the midfield in his absence (very few options there)- really hope joe allen can find some form as we'll need him to play well.

@youngl I disagree. Gerrard is getting a lot of stick this season and undeservedly so. He may be playing a lot deeper (to support the ailing Lucas) but his contribution and distribution have still been pivotal to the results we have achieved. He may have had a couple of off-games (Arsenal springs to mind) but the team performance definitely suffered when he left the field against West Ham and I'm sure his absence is going to be felt during the upcoming difficult fixtures.

Compared to previous season, gerrard miss isnt as big, i believe will play better football without him, however his set piece delivery will be missed

Henderson's time to shine. Always rated him and a run in the team is just what he needs. Also highly rate Joe Allen so he'd be a good replacement too. Gerrard is still going to be a huge loss, could really affect Liverpool's title credentials

Gerrard will always be a huge miss and, although he has had some off-days this season, he is still the pendulum in the side. I guess that it will give Allen a run in the side and a chance to prove himself one way or another. With or without Gerrard, midfield is where Brendan's Christmas money needs to go in January though CDM especially.
