Lambert making dream move to Anfield?

Reports have speculated of a potenial return to Liverpool for Rickie Lambert, the club who let him go aged 15, for around £4 million with additional fees. The 32 year-old striker who plays for fellow Premier League side Southampton, has a had a rough ride in football after seemingly his dream being over after Liverpool let him go. He has risen up through non-league, to the football league and helped fire Southampton into the Premier League two seasons ago. Now he could be on the verge of returning to his boyhood club and the club he supports and playing Champions League Football next season. He is expected to undergo a medical tomorrow and for personal terms to be sorted. So what do you think of this move? I personally love it. He's never going to be disrupt Suarez and Sturridge but he's a great player to have, something different from what we have and he'll give his heart and soul for the club.

Great signing IMO. our bench needs serious improvements and this guy is the perfect guy to have as an option off the bench in my opinion - good finisher who can also be physical and be the 'plan b' many people criticise liverpool for not having. also very clever in build-up play, doesn't get enough credit for his close control and vision. i think suarez, sturridge, sterling and co will enjoy making runs beyond rickie because he can find them with through balls. and, being a lifelong liverpool fan it's a dream move for him so that makes for a nice story. very happy with this signing.

Great signing for Liverpool at just 4mil, can afford for it to go wrong (unlike Carroll!) hope it works out for him, not sure it will but we'll see

Done Deal for 4mil. Not a lot of money for an international striker but not long to go in a career that has only just taken off at a high level.

@MB_Ktubes I think Rodriguez on the left is the way to go to be honest.

@Doozers20 Get someone along side him I would agree with you there but I like Rodriguez. Maybe someone who can hold it up for him and play him in.

@MB_Ktubes I'm not sure he'd be prolific enough to be honest, I think Lambert has more to his game to him too. If I was a Saints fan I'd prefer someone else to come in. They also have that Gallagher too who scored a few goals after making his debut.

@Doozers20 If they can hold onto Rodriguez too I think he's quite capable of playing through the middle rather than dropping out wide.

I think it's a fantastic move for both club and player, smart move by Liverpool, a bit of a blow for Southampton though. If they get good money for Shaw/Lallana/Schneiderlin they could replace him well though and get decent, cheaper players for the positions they need to replace.
