Manchester United

What's happening to Manchester United this year?? In the Champions league they have passed the round, ok, but in Premier League? what are they doing? I'm italian and I watched the Champion's League match, but I watched little the Premier League... Can you tell me in the Premier? Moyes's fault? or the fault of the players? Tell me...

@jimbo1984 carrick has been so poor this season and I think Jones has played well plus he's young and it would be a good experience for him

@Doozers20 How could jones be guaranteed before carrick? They play virtually the same position most of the time ad carrick is one of the best in the league.. Jones contributes very little and is a total liability when played at centre half

@jimbo1984 I don't think carrickis guaranteed don't think I'd pick him on this season's form I'd rather barry wilshire gerrard henderson and barkley. Jones and rooney the only shoe ins from.United in my.opinion.

Smallings performances this season should have lost him his England place... He's been terrible, welbeck has been ok but not exactly worthy to be an England regular.. Carrick and Rooney are the only two that should be anywhere near the England first 11.. Cleverly -- don't even need to comment on his performances, they speak for themselves.. And young may make the squad simply because of a lack of choice...

@Posford Rooney welbeck Jones smalling and Carrick will all be in the squad barring injury cleverley probably will too though I'm not sure he warrants it. Only one will start if everyone Is fit mind, maybe 2 with welbeck.

@crackentone they won't get in the squad at this rate!

@crackentone aside from perhaps young I don't have a problem with Uniteds English players.

@Doozers20 Don't you know with the quality of utd's english players. England are gonna get hammered at the world cup in Brazil.

@crackentone yes I still think purchasing in key positions is key rather than complete overhaul. a top quality box to box Centre mid, a young left wing back, a commanding Centre half, I'd prefer to see januzaj mata rooney behind rvp far more than valencia and young. If rafael continues to be injury prone United need a right back.

I wouldn't say no to a top quality winger like reus either but that might hold back the likes of januzaj. 5 or 6 signings is what I'd like to see and is quite a lot for 1 summer but I don't want to go the way of chelsea and city spending 100s of millions on foreigners. I'm proud of Uniteds continued use of British players.

@crackentone I still hope they finish fourth this season at least (although fifth will be just fine but embarrassing).

@Doozers So do you still think a couple of players will save this team. You cannot defend this anymore. whether it be the fault of Moyes or the team. This team is shocking they will only improve when there is a complete overhaul.

Certainly can't blame tactics for that disgrace tonight

@Posford goes someway to explaining I guess but the 3 I mentioned don't have much to do with United's attacking play barring evra who doesn't have a problem getting forward it's getting back where he struggles.

Also ageing players font force you to only pass it out to the wings and put 80 crosses in every game.

The main gist of my post was that tactics are the major problem behind united being way off the top 4.

@Doozers20 well as you yourself put it, the current bunch of players aren't getting any younger and age has finally caught up with them regardless of how good they are/have been. I'm paraphrasing there but that was the gist of your first post on this feed

@Ginger12 Do you play soccer?

I agree both their main strikers were out with injury for a long time during this year

@Posford yes that could be the case for not really winning the league but it's an unacceptable excuse for them being 7th now out of it and serving up utter drose week in week out trying to break the amount of crosses put in in a game.

@Posford I second to this! I guess if they have maintained the way that they bring in quality players like the way they do through the years, chances are David Moyes has a little fixing to do on the attack. BUT It's easy to blame the man as he is still living under Sir Alex Ferguson's shadow, and EXPECTATIONS ARE HEAVY ON HIM (given and understandable) since we are talking of the defending champions here.

No real evolution in the team, hardly any new signings and he just expected to win the league using last year's team when every other club got stronger

I think the majority of the blame has to land at moyes feet. The tactics in the league are terrible and he hasn't done anything about Uniteds main weakness.

All of the leaders in the team are ageing and aren't as good as they were... vidic rio evra.

I don't like using this as much of an excuse but major players have been missing through injury too.
