Manchester United Finally splash the cash.

In - Herrera,Shaw,Blind,Di Maria,Rojo,Falcao,Pereira,

Out - Rio,Evra,Vidic,Welbeck,Kagawa,Bebe,(Hernandez,Nani,Zahaand and other fringe players loaned out)

Robbie Savage said 12 players need to leave United and they need to spend about 200 million to transform the team. In my book robbie Savage was not far wrong. As a United fan i am delighted with the new signings and feel United can now make a push for the top 4.

PS who said Robbie Savage was over the top.

@crackentone who was it that scored against Swansea? RVP also actually had a good scoring record last season when he wasn't injured... Falcao is better than both as an all round striker so I am more than happy with him coming, but no I don't think United were in dire need of a new striker, and there was definitely areas that needed more attention (and still do in my opinion).

@Doozers20 You say Falcao was not needed i am bemused by that one. I had lost faith in RVP and Rooney. Them 2 couldn't score in a whorehouse. I know you need service as striker but them 2 could not even conjure up a goal between them. I am excited to see a world class striker, For me Rooney and RVP have gone a bit stale United were struggling to score goals.

I guess the last remark was aimed at me... I did say 4 or 5 needed (left back, strong centre back, 2 midfielders, and a winger would be icing on the cake) but I admit I was a little wrong in that as I like all of the acquisitions and would like a strong defender to go with them (though I don't know whether Rojo was particularly needed), so that would make 7 (Pereira has actually been at United for a couple of years in the youths). I don't think Falcao was needed either... But who says no to Falcao? Also I hear Van Persie could do with some surgery on his knee, so that could have turned out to be a masterstroke.

I will say though, I am really disappointed with Welbeck going to Arsenal, Manchester lad, brought through the academy and a talent in my eyes, ok he'd be 4th choice behind Rooney, RVP and Falcao but if United keep with 2 up top he'd get games, he's also decent on the wing. To me that sale rips the essence out of the club a little bit and turns United more into a City or a Chelsea, saying that I hope Wilson gets a good few games now as that is a lad with real potential in my opinion, and he can only benefit from playing with those 3 top class strikers. Wish Welbeck luck at Arsenal though and hope he does alright for them and England.

I do hope that all of these acquisitions don't halt the progress of the younger players. 4 in particular that have impressed me Wilson, Blackett, Pereira and of course Januzaj, though I guess on the flip side, being able to learn from all of these players can only benefit them.

Also one loan you missed was Cleverley, who I was hoping Van Gaal could do something with, bring him back to the form he showed at the start of 2012 before his injury, obviously I was wrong on that count too.

@gazpenk I don't think they had any choice in regards to Vidic and Evra.

No excuses now...Some good signings but think they still need a center back linchpin. Allowing Rio, Evra and Vidic to leave in the same season was madness. Hopefully their new defensive acquisitions can step up to the mark.
