Massive Job

So West Brom decided to sack Steve Clarke even though he really done a great job there, yes results werent great, though would have been different if Chelsea game had went there way. But with that squad and set-up its a real good club for a manager to platform there careeer. My personal opinion it would be a good fit for a young manager like Malkay McKay but surely more managers especially younger should be in the race for this job?

I like west brom, and i agree it'd be a good job to take. don't agree with the sacking of steve clarke though. he got them 8th last season which was their PL best. now this season without last season's top scorer (lukaku) they're not doing quite so well, but it was hardly a position to panic. won at old trafford and should have won at stamford bridge too. not too bad, i know it's been said a million times before but managers are sacked way too easily nowadays. and they've sacked him and 4 games later still haven't replaced him. they've just done what spurs have done and sacked him without even considering whether it could improve them. anyway, i hope malky mackay gets the job - he's the standout candidate.

@machine44 Dont know we managed to turn things around last season and at present we do have a fair amount of injuries. But right now the results and the long ball football we're enduring ent acceptable. Villa fans expect improvement from last season.

@Doozers20 Yeah they have been on a very bad run since the later end of last season. All Albion fans wanted him gone although I thought it was harsh at the time my opinion.

Thought mckay would get the job since clarke got sacked. I'd like to see solskjaer get it personally but may be a big risk.

@Villa-Rich didn't know that. That is a dire record and makes me more upset that they beat United!

@Hybridism a poor performing footballer can be dropped and is an 11th of a team whereas the manager is meant to be the most important position at a club therefore of course the consequences should be more dire for a manager. It is also the manager that decides to pick the out of form player.

@machine44 I did think he deserved more time but speaking to my Albion supporting friends they believed it was right for him to go. I dunno thou.

Yeah it's getting to breaking point with lambert now not just the results but the style of football is awful to watch. The natives are getting restless at Villa park. I'm not gonna be part of a campaign to sack lambert give him more time my opinion. The chairman won't sack lambert he believes in him and his young and hungry signings policy because it's cheap on wages and fees although it doesn't appear to be working. We need to spend money on quality experienced players but lambert won't. Or the chairman won't give him the required funds not sure who to blame tbh but it's not right.

I do think he deserved more time though, i know the records is crap but surely and not having a pop at villa, but lambert's record isnt much better than that is it @Villa-Rich

Malkay McKay should get the job

@Machine44 9 wins in 41 games is the reason he got sacked. They were on the massive downward slope towards the championship under Clarke. Football is a results business and the results weren't good enough.

Yeah I think Malkay is primed for the job - to Cardiffs detriment. Some clubs need to take a leaf out of the new Liverpool handbook and give managers a chance to build and develop their teams; and accept that a successful formula is not normally achieved overnight or even in a season. Is it strange that a poor performing footballer will get more time to put things right than their manager does.
