Sakho joins Liverpool, Potter is sad.
I feel very sad, and angry. Sakho was one of my favourite PSG players, a player made captain at the age of 17. A fantastic defender who never wanted to leave. The Qataris never wanted him, buying Lugano, Alex, Thiago Silva and Marquinhos. They even stripped him of the captaincy. Alex is not as good as Sakho.
At 13 he told his father he wanted to quit football. PSG convinced him to stay. His father died not long after. PSG became an adopted home for him, and he excelled.
Indeed, his departure is not without its symbolism, a PSG fan pushed out of the club he loves by the new regime, like so many others who, uncomfortable with the direction the club has taken under the Qataris, have wound down their interest in PSG.
PSG are Sakho's boyhood club, his hometown team, the team he dreamed of playing for all his life. PSG's supporters never wanted him to leave either. Sakho is one of them, Parisian-born, a child of Paris’ Goutte d'Or quartier who joined age 12 and rose through the ranks to become a symbol of the club.
On a PSG forum someone said "Sakho is to PSG what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris."
This has depressed me. Even worse, he's joined Liverpool. A club I hated since they sold Fernando Torres. Maybe my hate will leave me a bit. He could become an LFC great IMO, a future captain too. He should do well. The Qataris should realised what is best for the fans, players and club, money grabbing Qataris....
Adieu Madamou , merci pour votre temps à Paris, profitez liverpool ! (vous peut-être n'aurez pas ) ....
