Southampton English Stars to move on in the summer?

Southampton have had a great season this year and much of their success has been down to the superb play from their English players including captain Adam Lallana and strikers Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert. Luke Shaw, Jack Cork and James Ward-Prowse have also recieved high praise throughout the season. However, turmoil within the backroom staff has left their future at the club in doubt and with plenty of clubs sniffing around. Will these Saints be moving on to bigger and better things, especially after this season? Lallana and Shaw are the two names expected to move to clubs competiting in Europe and I'm sure Jay Rodriguez would also be considered had he not sustain a serious knee injury against Manchester City. Where will the top Saints land or will they remain at the club for another season? Get involved.

@releasethekraken Despite spending time outside the top 4 Liverpool have still been one of the big powerhouse financial clubs so it was aways possible for them to get back in the top 4. They pull huge commercial income from all over the world from glory hunting fans such as yourself. Clubs like Villa southampton etc just can't compete with that. Will never be possible to get the top 4 unless they get a rich Sheikh owner or a oil rich owner. When you can afford to pay 200k a week to your top striker I think that kind of proves that Liverpool are financially on another level top 4 or not.

@Villa-Rich right okay, except liverpool who finished 7th, 6th, 7th and 8th in the last 4 seasons but got comfortably into the top 4 and could even win the title.

@releasethekraken Its impossible for other teams to compete and get into the top 4 its a monopoly.

@Villa-Rich you may moan about top premier league clubs taking players from teams like villa and southampton, but 'cherry picking' goes on all the way down the leagues. teams like villa cherry pick too. as soon as crewe get a decent team, teams like villa come in and buy their captain. happens everywhere rich, it's football.

@Villa-Rich Well then this wondeful invention called the transfer market comes into play, and teams like Southampton buy wonderfully good new players!

@releasethekraken I've seen it happen time and time again over the years. Especially to my own club. The Premiership is a monopoly for the money clubs.

@Villa-Rich none of their players have left yet. at least wait till it happens before you moan about competition being dead.

As soon as a club like Southampton get a good team together the big club come along and cherry pick the best players. And you guys laugh at me for saying competition is dead. Well I rest my case. @releasethekraken MB_Ktubes

Lallana will go, his post match interview on BT after the Everton game basically confirmed it, when he refused to say he wanted to stay

Shaw and lallana are the 2 most sought after it seems. IMO neither should be in a hurry to leave as they're at a stable club on the up where there is a good environment for young english players to progress. especially shaw, who is still only 18. no rush for him, he should stay for at least another season. lallana is 25 so is probably more entitled to move on. most important thing is that they pick the right move really (so basically not city or chelsea). liverpool are being heavily linked to lallana.
