The Coventry situation.

Coventry City played their first 'home' game of the season against Bristol City at Sixfields stadium after the club were unable to pay the rent on their home stadium, the Ricoh Arena. The game wasn't without controversy off the field as just 1,000 Coventry fans made the trip to Northampton amid protests from fellow supporters about having to make the journey away for what should have been a home game. Fans were seen having heated arguements in Northampton about their stance with some fans electing to stay away from home games until owners SISU leave the club. Back in Coventry, around 8,000 fans watched a legends match featuring former Coventry greats as opposed to travelling 34 miles to Northampton. The club also recieved a 10 point points reduction before the start of the season after going into adminstration earlier this year. So what do you think of this current situation that Coventry are in? What does this say for modern football with yet another big club going into adminstration? I also would like to know what would you do in the situation? Would you travel the distance for the next three seasons potenially and support your club? or would you protest like a number of the supporters have? Get involved in what is a very serious issue at the moment.

@TheMightyPotter it applies to all football league clubs now last season they made there own FFP Rules and all the 72 football league clubs agreed to it. See link below for information on it from the football league themselves. http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/FLExplainedDetail/0,,10794~2748246,00.html

@Villa-Rich FFP only applies of you're in Europe, as that's the punishment.

@AFC_Harry34 Hopefully the financial fair play rules that the clubs in the football league clubs have signed up to will prevent it from happening again in future.

Unfortunately the Football League could have started the slow death of Coventry football club. The fans are making a stand against their move to Northampton which is good. How the peopl in charge of the club were allowed to take the club to this point is beyond me, why couldn't the football league do anything about Coventry's owners? The 10 point deduction is fair on the club but not on the fans. Also the club wouldn't have been allowed to get to a stage where they were recovering points deductions.

Feel bad for them it's not right what's happened had proper jokers running the club. They hate us but we don't see them as rivals really. Ricoh is a nice stadium I saw Coldplay live there. Shame I hope they get back into the Ricoh.
