A team like Arsenal need another striker and cannot soley rely on Giroud.
As for Danny Welbeck, no big loss for Utd if he goes. He's a good worker but I just don't see what he's done for club and country over the last few years. Seriously overrated player. Sad to see Hernandez go though...weird move for him, can't see him getting much playing time with Madrids existing attacking options.

In terms of Falcao, there is a rumour going around that Van Persie needs knee surgery that would put him out for a good few months, Hernandez seems to be going on loan to Real Madrid (which is slightly baffling me for a couple of reasons), and Welbecks near future is in the air, so in this sense to me it makes sense.

I don't want Welbeck to go, I do rate him and think United do need that 4 top line strikers, I think he offers something that Rooney, Van Persie and Falcao don't so much, in that he has more pace and is decent in a variety of positions (except perhaps Rooney, though I think Welbeck is better than him on the wing).

I'm also disappointed to see Shinji go, I know he didn't really ever set the world alight, but I don't think he was given a great deal of opportunity in his preferred role, I also thought Mata looked at his best when working with him. I'd like to have seen Van Gaal fit them 2 in the same team as it was probably the most exciting compination I saw in a dismal season last season.

I also think that United are in desperate need of a centre back to lead the line. I know it's not going to happen as theres been no word ever of it, but my choice would be Diego Godin at Athletico Madrid, don't think he would be massively costly (in comparison to the likes of Hummels and Mangala), though as I said, nothing even remotely close has been touted.

I'd also question whether a midfield 2 including Herrera, Blind, Di Maria, Fletcher, Anderson is enough to compete with the likes of... Yaya Toure, Fernando, Fernandinho or Fabregas, Matic, Ramires, Mikel.

I think Loic Remy is a fantastic 3rd/2nd choice striker but will get nowhere near the game time there than he would at QPR. I don't see Arsenal or Liverpool signing anyone major, though I believe Arsenal need to and that their top 4 trophy is in jeopardy this season, with 4, possibly 5 teams vying for 2 spots in the top 4
