UnbelievaBALE

Gareth Bale has now been booked 5 times this season for diving and will now miss Tottenham's next game. He even dive during the international match between Wales and Scotland earlier this year. If it was Suarez, the media would have slaughtered him by now. They said foreigners are the reason why there are divers in the Premier League, and they didn't mention about Young, Welbeck, Bale. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I think divers like Suarez, Young, Bale, etc should get a 3 match ban after they've been given 3 yellow cards for diving. It is ruining the game and is considered as cheating.

@calum_paton its much harder to hold off a challenge as a bigger man unless it is shoulder height than if they are a smaller player, also being brought down becomes easier as your balance (like i said higher centre of gravity) is displaced more quickly, your talking nonsense mate....

Bale is just living up to all the hype he's been getting over the last couple of years, yes he is very quick and should use this to he's advantage rather then looking to go down at the slightest touch, the booking he got on Saturday was spot on by the ref, when he is brought down in the area the ref will think that he has dived again and spurs will loose out, AVB should take notice of what David Moyes done when Phil Neville through himself to the ground to gain a free kick, fined him and made him apologise

@j17nnv he is also much stronger and should hold off the challenges better than smaller players

If a player is entitled to go down as soon as there is contact we would be better just letting players walk through defences. A tackle can't be made without making contact, even just the slightest which seems enough to send Bale, Suarez etc to the floor

Everyone here is comparing bale to players who are 5 ft 6 and have a centre go gravity as strong as they are compared to bale who's 6 ft 2 and running 4mph faster minimum against tacklers who are aiming to slow him down....im not defending him as to say he doesn't dive, but any clip on him while he's at 75% speed or more is enough to take him down!!!

He may have been touched but there is no way he needed to go down - he 'played for it' & didn't get it! He has a reputation now for a reason & he'll have to clean up his act sufficiently to shake it off

30 years ago if you poked someone on the pitch you'd get a slap. Now they'd go down crying.

I find it quite funny how people can call Suarez a disgrace for diving but pundits "feel sorry for Bale"

@Italian_celt67 I don't think it was a dive, I think in the position of the contact, the knee roll and the speed he was going, it could easily send him off balance, seen it happening for 20 years, been in the position myself, but I can understand why others feel that he dived and I can't argue because I don't know for absolute certain. I partly blame the refs though for this diving culture. I'll use an example that comes to my head being a United fan and watching all of their games, Welbeck against Wigan last season, he was being dragged about by a defender, dragged off the ball in fact, but no penalty because he didn't fall on his a**e, I feel as though this has led to players exaggerating contact as they expect more than they are getting. Not saying its right, its cheating and deserves a 3 match ban in my opinion, but refs also need to be told, whether on or off your feet in the area, a pens a pen.

Real football fans are against any form of diving, the fans who think its part of the game need to grow up its cheating that would be immediately been stopped in any other sport

Look at theo Walcott yesterday, if u fall fair enough but get ur butt back up, and who knows you might get a goal. Here's how you can tell if it's a dive, 90% of the time they immediately turn around with their hands in the air.

@RevRamsey yes cheat simulation and diving is virtually the same thing both of them are cheating

It wasnt a dive, it was simulation. massive difference, a dive is going down with no contact, simulation si acting like you have been shot, which is what bale did, he was brushed by the guys knee, and his legs went flying backwards? cheat.

Most of the time he would be in a better position if he just stayed on his feet, people who say but there was a bit of contact need to get a grip cause you watch players like Aguero who's tiny and he goes past people with two defenders hanging on too him

@walshi1987 exactly why cant everyone see that, hes an athlete not a weak old granny hes strong enough not to go down, he chooses to go down so he dosent have to do the work to take the shot or get past the defender (which he is capable of) that is cheating

@walshi1987 exactly, I've seen Messi do so many dribbles with 3, 4 players after him, their tackles were even harder than Bale's little clip to the knew, but Messi doesn't go down, he stays up and scores

He should be banned for more than one game because he's had 5 yellow just for diving. If he was touched it wasn't much & not enough to go down. He should take a look at how many times Messi gets touched when he dribbles. The difference is Messi rarely (if ever) goes down.
