United are struggling under Moyes.Does this prove how good Ferguson was.

Does this put in perspective how good Alex Ferguson was.I believe he was the greatest manager of all time.I think his mental strenght was the reason why he brought great success to Manchester United.United have lost that fear factor even at old trafford.Lessor teams now have more convidence playing United now because Ferguson is gone and Moyes is on the ropes.United now need to splash the cash and get in quality players. They need to get that confidence and mental edge back and quickly.

@rrweale when did United play attacking football last season? Wasn't the most entertaining

I just think Moyes is the wrong man for the job, United were supposedly the best team in the league and played some of the best attacking football in Europe, so why hire a manager that has spent year upon year using defensive tactics and holding on to wins rather than adding to them?

@Doozers20 fergie had luck with injuries? Don't agree with that.. Vidic, Rooney, Rafael, cleverly, Anderson, nani, jones, smalling and fletcher all had at least 4 week spells out last season, most of then had more than that.. And the season before we would have won the league with ease if it wasn't for all our injuries.. I would say the last two seasons have been te worst for injuries that I can remember

I don't think fergie needs any proof of how good he was.. United brought ferguson in when we were awful.. Atkinsons united team was awful and ferguson replaced nearly the whole squad within 3 seasons.. He also totally changed the way the team trained the youth system within the club and he also had the ability to sign decent players.. He took Aberdeen to the uefa cup final and beat Real Madrid.. David moyes is our manager now, he totally changed the back room staff at the club, the training regime and the way players are treated.. He needed to have a clear out wen he arrived and to sign a good 3 or 4 top players.. He sold nobody and signed an average player for an extortionate amount.. I don't think moyes had done anything to merit getting the united job, i don't like his negative tactics and obviously I don't like seeing us lose.. Regardless of all of this he still needs to be given time to prove himself.. If he makes the right moves in January we can still get in the top 4 and then in the summer he will be sure which players really aren't good enough and should be able to replace them..

@Posford fergie didn't inherit the champions and champions league wasn't a massive factor like it is today

In a way, yes, of course, but he did use a squad last year on it's last legs... Rio was fantastic last season, but there were spells he did suffer, it seems it was his last and he has been pretty woeful this season. Evra again I thought was inconsistent last season, helped out by his goals, and has been pretty bad this season too, Carrick hasn't been as good as he was last season, so that's 3 starters that haven't been as good as previous.

Add to that the luck Fergie had last season with injuries, most importantly Carrick and RVP (I know I said Carrick has been off his game but he's still Uniteds best midfielder and heard he's been carrying the injury all season), that good luck Moyes isn't having at the moment, and is something else he's had to deal with. I'm a great advocate that it is a squad game, but at the moment Uniteds squad, particularly in midfield, is showing itself to not be good enough.

Easy to say from home, but I haven't agreed with many of the decisions Moyes has made, the game at Southampton where he seemed to bring players on to defend the lead rather than go for a 3rd, and more recently against Spurs bringing Kagawa left and going 4-4-2 with Welbeck up front in the 35th minute, then at Everton doing it at half time, something I thought completely handed them the momentum, before then taking Kagawa off (though not sure whether his illness had struck then), and not putting a real goal scorer on (Hernandez) up front until the last 10 minutes.

All in all, I don't think massive changes in the team are needed, one steady midfielder with energy, perhaps a left back (I'd like 2, Baines and Shaw and to loan Shaw back out) and that will do... Fergie made a massive blunder with Pogba, United would look totally different.

Fergie had a few winless years before he started building good teams. Whether Moyes will be given that much time to prove himself, I'm not sure in this modern age

Yeah it does because he would shout at the players to wake them up and moyes doesnt even do anything
