@Villa-Rich I was talking in a cronologic order. Dont get 3 points for being entertaining.

@slufsar You didn't keep the ball in the 2nd half. Liverpool basically nullified the game and bored everyone to death.

I've heard too much moaning from Liverpool fans about the performance. People are forgetting that Liverpool played by their rules for the entire 90 minutes. They kept the ball and didnt give Villa a sniff of it, got a goal, then dropped back in defence to protect the lead.

@Villa-Rich You say we shouldnt be clinging on to a 1-0 lead against a side like yours? Do you remember what happened with Arsenal and Chelsea continued attacking after taking the lead against you? You countered them and scored. Villa is excellent at counter attacking, while Liverpool's style is very inviting for counter attacks, which is why the team sat lower after the goal, to nullify your main threat. Its very basic tactics, and it would be foolish not to do it. The execution wasnt perfect at times, but thats down to Lucas having an absolute mare and being out of position constantly.

@Villa-Rich it was very unlike us, yes. as i said we haven't ground out a win like that in ages, and long may it continue

@releasethekraken Nah you won the game fair and square but it isn't what is expect from a Liverpool team the way you won it

@MB_Ktubes I'll be honest with you aswell mate spurs performances haven't impressed me and I watched there game last week and today on the net because I thought it would be better than the Cardiff city game. (How wrong was I lol) but yeah there performances have been worse IMO but have just scraped past teams. Today it was a dive and cheating for the penalty they got to win. I guess Liverpool are in with a chance of top 4 you've gotta aim for it so early in the season.

@Villa-Rich yeah and why not hold on for dear life? that's utter b0ll0cks rich. no team performs perfectly every game. we won the game. all the best teams win ugly. the only stat that matters is the scoreline - liverpool have had that thrown at them countless times over the last few years when we had 20 shots but failed to score. now we're on the other end of it and it's great. honestly thought you had taken it well, but here comes the bitterness...

@MB_Ktubes It is true Liverpool need to start winning matches ugly. But I think you need to learn to finish teams of aswell. Like last week at stoke you hammered them but very nearly lost 2 points at the end.

@Villa-Rich Have to agree with you on that. Agbonlahor wasn't as effective. Benteke was quiet other than his two chances. You gave us too much space in the middle of the park in the first half and that was down to fatigue. Although, I think we were more organised than Arsenal in the midfield. I'm not going to come out and say that we were amazing but to win in the way that we did without being at our best is encouraging considering what we were like last season. It would have been a draw last season. Guarantee it.

@MB_Ktubes yeah obviously but your performance was nout special. We'd just spilled our guts out playing at the emirates and Stamford bridge in the days before.

@Villa-Rich.. With the one clear cut chance ending in a goal?

@MB_Ktubes we had a lot more attacking intent than what Liverpool had . Liverpool passing the ball around 100's of time in midfield with no end product was the story of the first half.

@Villa-Rich so winning ugly isn't important? United have won countless games over the years which has won them titles when they haven't been at their best. I don't think we'll finish Top 4 but we'll be in a much better position to challenge than we have been for many years. Mignolet was only called into action twice to save from Benteke so I wouldn't say that you were all over us. More half chances than clear cut ones.

@releasethekraken and although you dominated the first half how many times did you actually test out goalkeeper? Liverpool not gonna finish top 4 no chance. Even before you played I predicted 6th. We had way more shots through the game than Liverpool did check the stats.

@MB_Ktubes The whole game was just a bore. We had 2 tough games before we played you on the sat then the wed. Just weren't to be our day.

@releasethekraken Your team was happy to hold on to dear life for the 1-0 win. For a team that has aspirations of top 4 you shouldn't be going to a team which was relegation threatened last season and try and cling on to 1-0 for a whole half.

@MB_Ktubes i'm unsure whether the change in the second half was due to villa stepping up or more us just going completely off the boil. at the time i thought the latter, although villa did start to come back at us in the last 10 minutes of the first half. it was probably a combination of the two, i was very disappointed with our performance in the second. we just couldn't keep the ball. similar sort of thing happened a lot last season (level of performance dropping off in games).

Very impressed with Villa's midfield. Talented and combative players with potenial to boot. All interchangable which is good considering the run in they've just had and will help them for the rest of the season. Probably deserved a draw on their second half performance but we dominated the first despite having little chances. Villa could have a good season if they play as well as they have against us in the 2nd half, Chelsea and Arsenal. Consistency is key.

@James thanks man but I think both of our teams will play far better than that this season.
