Was AVB correct to let Lloris play on?

He could've died.

If you don't know, Lukaku's knee knocks Lloris out, but he stays on. According to many, you cannot make proper deacons when you're concussed and he should've come off.

No, if there is any kind of risk of a head injury then they should go straight off. It happens more frequently in Rugby and players then go on to have problems later in life. Besides, it was the final few minutes of the game and when you have Brad Friedel as your back-up keeper surely you can afford to take Lloris off

@releasethekraken That works on the recent Januzaj story.

Yeah he should have been subbed. Even if Lloris was insisting to stay on he should have been told no. But on the other side he was examined by the doctor so maybe he was OK to continue. On a another thought; should Lukaku have been booked? I think it was harsh because there didn't seem any intent to harm Lloris.

Sir alex ferguson - "he could have been killed".

....does the joke still work if he actually could have been killed?

In American Football even the slight chance of a concussion means that a player has to be evaluated before being allowed back out. Concussions are some of the most serious injuries in sport and effect athletes outside of the sport as well.

Yes he should have subbed him. Here's a question though. What if he'd used all 3 subs? Should the option to sub the keeper off after all 3 subs have been made in circumstances such as that? Hypothetical I know as this wasn't the case but just thought.

Fair play to lloris for staying on but avb really should have taken him off, players have been seriously damaged or even killed by knocks like that
