Who should Liverpool bring in to help us progress?

Now the season is over and the World Cup approaches, transfer rumours are being thrown around here and there and with Liverpool's successful season many names are being linked with Brendan Rodgers' side. Adam Lallana seems to be the favourite target at the moment with an alleged £20 million bid being rejected by Southampton and a £25 million price tag being placed on the World Cup bound playmaker. Other rumours that have been floating around include Valencia duo Dani Parejo and Juan Bernat, Barcelona players Christian Tello and Javier Mascherano, and the now former Chelsea and England full back Ashley Cole. So Liverpool fans who do you think we should bring in? Rodgers has stated that he wants "quality over quantity" so which players do we need to bring in to suit this statement? Get involved

I think we should be taking advantage of the fact we are now in the champions league and can therefore attract a higher class of player. and i'd like us to do that by signing 5 or 6 top first-team quality players who could easily come straight into our team and improve it. we need a bigger squad but i don't want us signing squad players. sign first team quality players and make the quality of the squad better as well as the quantity, as rodgers says. i'd actually rather have a smaller squad of quality players and use youth players as the squad players, instead of a massive squad filled with sub-standard players. so in that regard i am encouraged by these rodgers comments.

as for the players. i don't know who, but in terms of position i think we need: a full back, a centre back, a dynamic midfielder capable of playing gerrard's position as the deepest midfielder, and 2 versatile attacking players who can play anywhere across the front 3 or as an attacking midfielder in our diamond formation.

@Doozers20 I'd be happy with another Top 3 finish with progression in the Champions League and a good cup run ending in a trophy.

@MB_Ktubes I'd look at clyne for full back. mascherano would be a great signing. I'd have borini as back up. Cole would be a good signing for anyone on a free. a centre back is needed too maybe someone like garay to go next to skrtl. I don't personally think liverpool will challenge though.

I would love to see us get Ashley Cole and Javier Mascherano. I'm put off by the price of Lallana if I'm honest. I think he's a great player but I just don't think he's the type of player I'd risk spending £25 million on. Alexis Sanchez would be a fantastic signing but defense has to be the focus. Caulker would add depth but we need a leader and winner at the back. Johnson has to be sold and I'm still undecided about who we should bring in as our full-backs. Any suggestions? I know Moreno has been linked but not seen a lot of the guy honestly.
