Will Jermain Defoe be in the England Squad?
If you've not heard already, Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is to join Toronto FC of the MLS in late Feburary leaving England after spending time with Tottenham on two occasions, West Ham and Portsmouth. The 31 year old has agreed at 4 year contract with the MLS side, who are managed by former Blackburn defender Ryan Nelsen. Nelsen specualated that Defoe had offers from fellow Premier League clubs going into the final year of his Spurs contract but choose to move across the pond to play in Canada and the US. Defoe had been scoring regularly for Spurs in the Europa League but found playing time limited in the Premier League by now former boss Andre Villas-Boas. New Tottehnham boss Tim Sherwood has changed the formation at Spurs to accomdate two strikers but again Defoe has yet to get the nod week in, week out. Will the reputation of the MLS leave Jermain Defoe out in the cold when Hodgson comes to draw up his squad or will Defoe's record and experience allow him to remain in the squad?. If Defoe is to be left out then who will replace him in the squad? Another forward or a player in another position? Get involved.
P.S. I didn't make that image LOL.
