Not a bad start coming from 2-0 down away from home against Newcastle.... Time will tell but Wolves board must expect Championship football next season

Lol....Kean is tripe @walshi1987, it just feels very much like a two fingered diss to both McCarthy and Connor - first you sack McCarthy for poor results, which Connor had influence in, then you seek and can't find a replacement, so clearly they think Connor ain't good enough, then you appoint him on a do-or-die contract....Still wish him the best of luck, but that is hardly gonna instill confidence in success. Funny @mrsentah heard Connor models himself after Dalglish - so you gotsta be right on that one!!!   :ohh:

@Hybridism That's whyI have more hope of staying up. But he can't be any worse than Mr Kean!! At least they appointed the assistant manager & not a first team coach!!

This appointment has given black managers a bad rep- he is destined to fail . wolves should as a PR exercise give this guy a long term contract and give him the chance to bring them back up next season- its so obvious that they he was an after thought when everyone else turned the job down. - good luck to him but he is stuck between a rock and a hard place -a no win situation with wolves current predicament - the sacking of McCarthy now looks scandalous based on the appointment of the number 2 getting the job- ps I hope Newcastle don't underestimate wolves!!!

Im baffled by this tbh- there was alternatives there that werent mentioned- i seriously would have thought Strachan would have kept them up

Looks like they are doing a Blackburn - it is a face saving exercise that'll likely backfire. Give him a chance, but if both he and McCarthy could not improve the squad performance, what chance has he got on his own??

I've never heard of him so let's see what happens. But I don't see the point in sacking an experienced manager & putting his assistant in charge. Surely it'll be more or less the same as before? But I'd take Ian McDoalld over Steve Kean everytime! Let's hope he's as clueless as Kean & we only have to battle with Bolton to beat the drop. (Sorry Wigan fans!)

Very suprised at this. although it doesnt matter for tomorrow anyway, they are still gonna lose 3 or 4-0. Cisse and Ba are gonna rip them apart.

Should not have fired Mick. Stupid board! Atleast we now have a black manager in PL now, bit of diversity. Who knows he may come good, but it seems they did not think this through haha

@CheeseOnMyToad not sure they should have sacked Mick then. Not long to go of the season now. Should have kept him till then at least. You sack him then appoint his assistant! LOL

@gazpenk I wouldn't want that job either! Destined to fail

@maresh yeh, watching Sky and they're saying that Wolves' first choices didn't want the job so they were left with Terry Connor

Didn't really understand why they sacked Mick McCarthy in the first place. The board can't expect not to be in the position they are in without spending cash. It's no wonder no one wants the job, relegation candidates with no money to spend if they can't keep them up.
