World Cup Draw: England face a rumble in the Jungle after tough draw.

England have been paired against Uruguay, Costa Rica and Italy in Group E for next years World Cup in Brazil with the first game to be held in the Amazonian city of Manaus, over 1,000 miles from their training base. Earlier this week Hodgson described Manaus as "the place to avoid" because of the climate - temperatures reach 30C and humidity is about 80%. This could be described as the dreaded group of death within this years tournament with 2 time winners Uruguay and 4 time winners Italy with star-studded squads within the group. So what do you make of England's group? A good challenge or will we be heading home early?

The other groups are as follows-

Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon.

Group B: Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia.

Group C: Colombia, Greece, Ivory Coast, Japan.

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy.

Group E : Switzerland, Ecuador, France, Honduras.

Group F: Argentina, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Iran, Nigeria.

Group G: Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA.

Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Russia, South Korea.

@TheWelshDragon I think England and Belgium would be close at the top, but think England would come 2nd, in front of Croatia.

@TheWelshDragon I'm fairly sure England and Belgium were both seeded 1st so that would have been impossible, England came above Croatia when qualifying for the Euros.

Well it's been coming.

A usual easy qualifying route, and then at the major tournaments they also have easy groups.

I would have liked to seen how you would have got on with Belgium & Croatia in their qualifying group.

@releasethekraken I think Italy tend to be a team that does terribly or really well. I also don't see a great deal of difference with England on paper but I'm by no means an expert on Italian football. Think Uruguay have the advantage of being on South American soil though.

I think italy will win that group, on paper (bar suarez and cavani) that uruguay team isn't that great - had a poor qualifying campaign too. so i'd say england and uruguay are quite well matched. have to take into account the fact that england never really perform at major tournaments though, and the fact that they have suarez, so i make uruguay favourites to finish 2nd. no one really expects much from england at all so we won't be shocked if we get knocked out in the group stage.

Really ###### off at how easy group C,F and H are when there are groups with the like of Germany and Portugal, Switzerland and France and Spain and Holland. Guess that's how the rankings and the draw works though :/

Italy and Uruguay will be tough games but I believe that with the right tactics we can beat them. Remember the mare Italy had at the World cup in 2010? Uruguay flopped at the olympics last year and we beat them then with an understrength Team GB so I wouldn't say we have no chance. Let's just not get carried away, if we get through the group then that is a respectable achievement. Target should be the Quarter finals but getting to the second round wouldn't be a failure

All depends how we do on the day.. Italy are beatable.. Costa Rica shouldn't be beating us and Uruguay are probably the the to beat in the group.. Beat Italy in our first game and we will go through

France, Argentina and Belgium have the easiest groups. The other groups are well balanced. I think if we play younger and therefore fitter players in the heat and humidity of Manaus we can do well. Uruguay I think will be more of a challenge than Italy. Would love to see Ross Barkley driving forward from midfield but I have concerns that he might lash out if provoked. He has that look about him! Italy are great at mind games (remember Zidane's headbutt?!) so we will have to be disciplined even more so in the heat.

We'll be lucky to get through. If we do I think we'll finish runners up. Draw with Italy & Uruguay, beating Costa Rica. If we finish second & Brazil win their group so we'll meet them in quarters (if both win 2nd round ties) which will seal our usual fate.

I still think we can scrape through though

Very tough group for England. Costa Rica shouldn't be too hard but Uruguay and Italy will be tough games. Especially when we play Italy in the Amazon in Manaus!
